Louisiana

Decided on a day trip... again seeking the Utzon exhibition. Fabulous train, quiet platform. Fantastic system, the train stops at the far end of the platform and people get off, then glides forward and passengers get on. So we thought! Train glided straight past us!

The architecture of the museum was fantastic, overlooking a lake with sculpture set in wide gardens. Henry Moore sculptures fantastic and really well placed. Much of the other art a bit disappointing.

A fascinating exhibition was the David Hockney "Me Draw ipad" fantastic....immediately downloaded the brushes app and can't wait to have a go!

Just missed out on concert... Faure and Ravel.... oh well can't do it all

On yer bike!

Bikes by the thousand. Within 5 seconds of arriving we were nearly wiped out by these fast machines of all shapes and sizes. We have seen everything being carried this way... a kindergarden class of six, complete with safety vests, the teacher peddling madly from behind, drum kits, beer and goodness knows what else!

That's so funny

I love it when you travel and see something and wonder "Is that normal?" We came across a group of people in the Royal Gardens, dressed up with feathers in their hair shooting arrows at balloons... Say no more.

The other thing we saw quite a bit, was people moving home... simply get a cherry picker, load the furniture on and away you go. Loved Galleri Trash... yes it was. I LOVED it.

Copenhagen - Home of Design

Now the Danes are a very stylish lot - as we know from Utzon's design of our Opera House. So a visit to see his designs at the Design Centre were de rigour. BUT no Utzon exhibition, but there was a fascinating display of design from the 50's.... lego in 1958... electric cars in the 90's. Also a frightening display about impacts of our lifestyle on environment along with some solutions. Unfortunately all too little too late!

Exquisite!

Escaped the wind and rain by visiting the Viking exhibition at the National Museum. Ho Hum no vikings but these exquisite sculptures, carriages and lurs (musical instruments, bottom left hand picture!). All from around 5 Century BC!

Make mine a beer!

A visit to Copenhagen wouldn't be complete without visiting the Carlsberg Brewery!
