The architecture of Copenhagen is just stunning........not overwhelming like Rome but really accessible. Its all in the detail. Still don't know what the road sign, "Stop for blink" means. Open sandwiches....yum.
The question “Is it a life experience?” has launched us into some amazing cultural exchanges such as volunteering in Tanzania, floating in a canoe down the Amazon, snorkeling in Alaska and walking among the wonderful creatures on the Galapagos Islands.

Its the little touches

canal tour
Canal trip gave us a really good idea of layout of Copenhagen. Actually a really small compact city.... so calm and quiet. Looking forward to visiting Opera House. Mind blowing to think of a 14 storey opera house... six levels underground. Also like the little pavillions especially for the Royal Family as they wait to get on their boat... mind you when that wind blows..............Copenhagen canals
We arrived at 6.00am and our apartment would not be ready until 5.00,not what you want to hear after 20hr flight! So after a bit of a hassle, our luggge was piled into the front of a bike and we peddled along to the office. So what next...delicious Danish coffee and pastries and then on to the canal tour. Couldn't believe how low those bridges were.Talk about losing your head in Denmark!

Neighbour of the Queen!
Great apartment overlooking the gardens of Rosenberg Castle. Quirky with the strangest taps and gadgets. The washing machine is I think from the 60's fits in 2 pairs of socks, undies and possibly a T Shirt! (See bottom right hand picture). Quirky owner too... lover of books, music and art so the apartment is full of interesting things. Thursday, June 16, 2011

Day 2 – Avalon to Narrabeen Lakes
Another 13 km walk took us across near secret, secluded beaches that we really didn't know existed. Avalon, Bilgola, Mona Vale... often the only people on the beach!

ub we walked over Bilgola Head to small Bilgola Beach, amzing we seem to be the only people exploring. Newport Beach to Bungan Beach, which is sheltered by a steep hillside and only accessible by walking track. Finally Mona Vale Headland, another breathtaking vantage spot, and finally Mona Vale and Warriewood beaches.
